Ep 202: Frank Went to Texas… and Roman Lost It
Frank is back from Texas, and he has a story to tell.
In Episode 202 of Brews & Banter, Frank sits down with Roman to talk about his recent trip to San Antonio, the unbelievable Texas heat, some unexpected conversations, and one very unusual hotel setup that left Roman laughing.
As usual, what starts as a simple conversation quickly turns into something much more entertaining.
Frank’s Texas Trip
Frank recently traveled to San Antonio, Texas, for a series of meetings. The trip came with plenty of heat, with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees during his stay.
While the weather was intense, Frank still managed to enjoy parts of the trip. He talked about the city, rooftop bars, meeting new people, and some of the unexpected conversations that happened along the way.
One conversation in particular took an unusual turn after Frank met someone connected to a pharmaceutical company. What started as a normal introduction quickly became one of those completely unpredictable conversations that somehow only happens on Brews & Banter.
The Texas Heat Was No Joke
One of the first things Frank noticed was just how hot Texas was.
After spending time inside air-conditioned buildings, stepping outside felt like walking directly into a wall of heat and humidity. Even nighttime temperatures were still extremely warm.
Frank also described his stop in Houston on the way home and the moment the airport doors opened. After being inside an air-conditioned terminal, the Texas heat hit him immediately.
It’s one thing to hear someone say Texas is hot. It’s another thing to step outside and experience it for yourself.
Then Things Got Weird at the Hotel
The funniest part of Frank’s trip may have been the way the hotel was being used for meetings.
Instead of traditional conference rooms, some hotel rooms had been converted into meeting spaces. The beds had been removed, tables had been brought in, and different rooms were being used for meetings with different vendors.
Frank explained that he had an incredible number of meetings packed into a short period of time. The setup was practical, but from the outside, it looked extremely unusual.
Imagine walking into a hotel room expecting a normal bedroom and finding a table where the bed should be.
Roman immediately started questioning the whole setup.
A Hotel Room That Wasn’t Really a Hotel Room
The strangest part was the layout.
Frank explained that some of the rooms still looked like hotel rooms from the hallway, but once you entered, the normal bedroom setup was gone.
Instead, you could walk through what would normally be the bathroom area and into a space that had been transformed into a meeting room.
The whole thing created a strange situation where people were essentially having business meetings inside former hotel rooms.
And, of course, Roman couldn’t resist imagining all the ridiculous situations that could happen when you have only a short amount of time to meet with someone.
20 Minutes to Make an Impression
Frank explained that the meetings were short, with roughly 20 minutes to meet with different people.
That meant there wasn’t much time for introductions, conversations, questions, and business discussions.
For Frank, the setup made sense once he understood why the hotel was organized that way. Different vendors needed their own spaces and didn’t necessarily want to share confidential business information with competitors.
Still, that didn’t stop Frank and Roman from having fun with the idea.
It’s exactly the kind of ordinary situation that becomes hilarious once the two of them start talking about it.
Another Classic Brews & Banter Conversation
That’s what makes Episode 202 work.
Frank has a real story from his trip, but Roman’s reactions turn the story into something completely different.
Between the Texas heat, rooftop bars, unusual hotel rooms, business meetings, travel stories, and plenty of random side conversations, the episode takes the usual unpredictable Brews & Banter path.
You never quite know where the conversation is going to go next.
